Wounded Warriors
Poway Brigantine Restaurant
Judy Beckett runs Cornerstone Therapeutic Riding Center/Operation Saddle-Up. Cornerstone provides equine-assisted therapy to wounded warriors returning from Iraq and Afghanistan with lost limbs, severe PTDS, traumatic brain injuries and other war-related injuries and illnesses. It is the only program approved by the SD Naval Medical Center Balboa to work with their patients.

Bill Protzmann is on a mission to raise awareness of the power of music as self-care. He is a piano virtuoso, an entrepreneur and launched Music Care Inc. to provide education in music as adjunct treatment for post-traumatic stress and other issues related to military service as well as a means of relieving depression and anxiety.

Chris Chauncey is President of Prep Counts. His mission is to educate HOA's, businesses, schools, church groups and associations on topics pertaining to natural disaster threats in Southern California. Having interviewed survivors from the Japan earthquake and Hurricane Sandy, he'll give insight on ways to prepare more effectively.

First Pitch for the Final Inch

How would you like to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Padres vs Dodgers game on 6/20/13? Rotary District 5340 is conducting a drawing for this opportunity. As a thank you for your donation, one opportunity will be entered into the drawing for every $10 donation (ticket) made to PolioPlus via the "First Pitch for the Final Inch" program. Donations of $100 (10 tickets) or more are also eligible to receive Paul Harris Fellow credit. The winning entry will be randomly drawn at the Rotary District Office on June 10, 2013. The winner will be notified directly and an announcement will be published in the June 14 edition of Quickbits.

Zones 25-26 Reception at the Lisbon Convention

Online registration for the annual Rotary Zones 25-26 Reception in Lisbon is now available. The cost is $49 ($60 if at door) and includes entertainment, hors d'oeuvres, a drink, and fantastic fellowship with fellow Rotarians and guests from our two Rotary zones.
