Ticket price ($60) covers entrance to the event, delicious tray-passed hor d'oeurves, dancing to a live 17 piece Big Band, $200 in casino style gaming chips, and an opportunity drawing ticket (for FABULOUS prizes).

There will be cash bar options for interested bootleggers.

Making a Difference:

The Rotary Club of Naval Base San Diego was formed to help serve the needs of our Sailors and families on and around the Base, while also focusing on service to the community surrounding Naval Base San Diego. Chartered in September 2011, the club has already partnered with community organizations to provide over $125,000 in material assistance to base Sailors, participated in base-wide cleanup projects, and funded a Rotary literacy program for King-Chavez Elementary School.

The Shadowridge Vista Rotary Club is sponsoring a fund-raising Texas Hold-Em poker tournament, to be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Ocean's Eleven Casino in Oceanside. We want to invite and encourage all Rotary members in San Diego County who enjoy poker to participate in the tournament, and to bring along your non-Rotary friends and family. It promises to be a fun time that offers an opportunity to win cash, while supporting the Shadowridge Vista Club in fulfilling the Rotary mission locally and world-wide.

In The Matter of a Car Raffle Slated to be drawn on February 11, 2012

RCSDPV regrettably informs the public, supporters and sponsors that due to low ticket sales, we are invoking our right to offer lesser prizes in lieu to the published prizes of a car, trips to Hawaii and Las Vegas.

The club and the car raffle committee will meet on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 to discuss on prizes based on collected funds. We will then announce the drawing date and winners and will publish the results on our website: www.paradisevalleyrotary.org and local newspapers

We will inform ALL those who bought tickets via telephone and email of the results of the raffle.

The Miramar (San Diego) and Naval Base San Diego Rotary Clubs are holding their first Annual Poinsettia Fundraiser. The funds raised will support the Marines and Sailors and their families in the San Diego area. In an effort to make this event a success, we are calling upon our family, friends and local businesses to help us. We are selling beautiful 14.5 to 16.5 inch tall, multi-bloom, Holiday Red and White Poinsettia plants in 6.5-inch pots with a gold foil sleeve.

ROTARY CLUBS OF CARLSBAD HOST 29H ANNUAL OKTOBERFEST

Get out your lederhosen! The Carlsbad Rotary Oktoberfest, a fall tradition of feasting, fun and fundraising, will mark its 29th anniversary this year. The event, scheduled from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011 at Holiday Park (located between Tamarack Avenue and Carlsbad Village Drive off the I-5 Freeway), will bring thousands of people to enjoy German food (and beer!), live music, and a variety of entertainment for children.

The famous Tip Top Meats will be providing the traditional German dinner from noon until 8PM, the Carlsbad Danish bakery will be providing the amazing apple strudel, and loads of other great food will be everywhere. In addition to the traditional Budweiser and Beck's Oktoberfest blend beers, a new beer will be added this year - an IPA from Oceanside Ale Works brewed specially for this event. The Carlsbad Coastal Winery will again provide wine selections including tastings and host a grape stomp at Oktoberfest that was very popular last year, with separate barrels for adults and kids.

Local parking is limited and the event is popular, so a free shuttle bus will again be offered from the SW corner (Marron at Monroe) of the Westfield Plaza Camino Real Mall with pick-up and drop-off at 20-minute intervals from 11:30AM until 10:30PM.

On Sunday August 21, 2011, The La Jolla Sunrise Rotary Club in conjunction with the Southwestern Yacht Club will sponsor A SAIL FOR LIFE Regatta to benefit our Gift of Life Program. Rotarians will be allowed on the racing boats at a cost of $100 per person made out to the Gift of Life 5340 Foundation.
