District Conference 2009

Rotarians from District 5340 and District 9200 shared in the fellowship of the District Conference May 15-17, 2009. A good time was had by all, especially those who joined in the uniquely American dancing on Friday night.


GSE Team from East Africa

The inbound Group Study Exchange team from District 9200 was in our District and visited clubs in May 2009. The team consisted of Rotarian Team Leader Robert Nsibirwa,  Benedict Nsana, Gilbert Kansiime, and Nebeyu Dilnesahu. They participated in Rotarians at Work day with the Chula Vista Sunrise Club on April 25th, 2009.

2010 Council on Legislation

Council on Legislation This is the time for Clubs to submit "RI Resolutions & Enactments" proposals to the District for consideration at the Council on Legislation which takes place in Chicago, April 2010.

Rotarians At Work Day was April 25, 2009. Join your club as Rotarians around the world provide Service Above Self in our communities. The word is spreading around the world, one bus at a time!


Pathways to Peace Award


The Rotary District 5340 Pathways to Peace Award was presented to longtime Rotarian and well-respected San Diego public figure Lucy Killea on February 10, 2009 at the District Council dinner. Killea was recognized as a consummate local and state lawmaker and a lifetime leader in international relations. The award reads: "For strengthening many pathways for peace through the world, building consensus, promoting community involvement and encouraging international understanding and goodwill."


GSE Team in East Africa

Our 2008-09 Rotary District 5340 Group Study Exchange Team visited Kenya and Uganda in District 9200. Visit their blog to see the latest information about their experiences.


Interact Symposium

Rotarians and Interactors from all over District 5340 participated in the Interact Symposium at Idyllwild’s AstroCamp the weekend of October 17-19, 2008. One of the many amazing things that they did while they were there was to raise over $1,000 for a water project in Uganda.


DGE Marge Cole Graduates

DGE Marge Cole graduated from the Governors Elect Training Seminar (GETS) on September 25, 2008, and celebrated with some of the district leadership at the Zones 23-24 Institute in Portland.
