On Thursday August 15th local Rotarians gathered at Petco Park to see the Padres play the New York Mets, and to help raise funding and awareness for the PolioPlus Foundation.  This was the fifth such "Rotary Night at the Padres" in this 2013 baseball season.  This time, Rotarians wore red "End Polio Now" baseball style caps to raise awareness during the game, while Cindy Fisher of the San Diego Coastal Rotary Club raised the "End Polio Now" flag in pre-game ceremonies.

The San Diego Coastal Rotary Club got the party started with a club sponsored mixer and meeting at the terrace and bar known as the Coronados, overlooking the San Diego Bay and the Convention Center.  Mari Pullen, Kara Dobelis and Austin Evans of San Diego Coastal Rotary were introduced on the field before the game, and Wendy Patrick of San Diego Downtown Breakfast Rotary performed our Nation Anthem on the violin.
