Our District website now provides an updated and expanded list of Rotary club filing requirements for the IRS and California agencies.

November 15 2016 is the upcoming deadline for IRS Form 990, 990EZ, or 990N, and California Franchise Tax Board (FTB) Form 199 or 199N.  Every club, whether large or small, is required to file these annual returns with the IRS and FTB.  There is an extension available.  Other listed requirements have varying deadlines.

In general, these filing requirements also apply to club-affiliated foundations.  Foundations should be registered with the California Attorney General "Registry of Charitable Trusts" (including corporations and associations).  Attorney General Form RRF-1 is due at the same time as the IRS Form 990 series.

Rotarians Dan Malloy of the Rancho Bernardo Club and Michael Wexler of the Del Mar Club have developed this updated list.  Additional educational materials are being developed, so feedback and participation is welcome.  To provide feedback, email: Michael@wexlerlawgroup.com.
