Since the 10th century pilgrims have made their way to Santiago de Compostela, Spain, via a network of trails known as the Camino de Santiago.

In the Spring of 2017, Rotarians will walk this pilgrimage as a fundraiser for La Jolla Golden Triangle Rotary Club, with the help of Spanish Steps, a Spain-based tour company which focuses on Camino de Santiago walking tours.  Spanish Steps is arranging a one week, van-supported journey covering the last 117 kilometers (73 miles) of the Camino de Santiago, from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela and will donate profits back to La Jolla Golden Triangle Rotary Club for service projects.

Rotarians will meet in the ancient Roman city of Lugo, in Northern Spain, and drive to the trailhead of the Camino de Santiago near Sarria where they will join pilgrims from all over the world as they make their way to the Santiago following the well-marked trails of this region.  In Santiago de Compostela  they will receive the Compostela, the official certificate of completion issued by the Cathedral in Santiago.

The trip dates are March 31, 2017 - April 7, 2017.  The cost is 2000 Euros per person plus travel/personal expenses.  Cost includes van support, hotels (7 nights, double occupancy), all breakfasts and dinners (wine included).
