Recycled Water

The San Diego Uptown Rotary met on a clear, blue Saturday morning in August at the City of San Diego Pure Water Purification Demonstration Project. They were treated to an informative presentation on San Diego's drinking water sources and were shown options to generate clean water that are unaffected by economic or climatic obstacles.

The demonstration project receives treated “gray” water and treats it further using three advanced processes. Ultimately, this purified water could be blended with water from other sources and treated a third time for potable use. All three processes were described and answers given for our many questions.  A guided tour through the facility with further explanation about the pipes and tanks, filters and processes capped the visit. Afterward, we enjoyed lunch and fellowship at the Hope 46 restaurant at the Lafayette Hotel on El Cajon Boulevard.
