Old Mission Rotarian, Vesta Young, celebrated her 100th Birthday party at the Old Mission Rotary meeting on September 30th. Vesta was born in Ontario Canada on September 30, 1914 just as World War I was starting in Europe. Vesta became an American citizen, was married four times and was a professional musician. She made the ultimate sacrifice of losing two sons in the Vietnam War. Since joining Old Mission Rotary 28 years ago, Vesta has played wonderful music on her keyboard before each meeting. She has done this since joining Rotary 28 years ago. Vesta's radiant joy is an example of the Pablo Picasso quote “It takes a very long time to become young.”
Vesta Young celebrated her 100th Birthday with Old Mission Rotary and was presented with 100 long stem roses and her second Paul Harris Fellowship! The program on September 30 was a celebration of Vesta's life.
