Global Grants are larger projects ($30,000 to $200,000 budget) that are carried out by two sponsor clubs. The Host Club is where the project is physically located.  The International Club (usually your club or another club in our district) must be from another country. In District 5340, your club contributions to a project can be matched with up to $10,000 of District Designated Funds (DDF) for approved projects. The DDF is matched at 80% by The Rotary Foundation.

How to Do a Global Grant

You can learn exactly HOW to do a Global Grant by attending the Global Grants Training Seminar held in the spring of each year.  For the 2021-22 Rotary year, the Global Grants Management Seminar will be held via Zoom on April 10, 2021. A recording of the event will be available on this website after that date.  Two club members must attend and complete an online quiz with a passing score, and a Club Memorandum of Understanding that must be completed for a club to be qualified to do a global grant.

D5340 grants are generally managed in this way:
  • Develop the project with your host partner.
  • Enter the details on http://www.matchinggrants.org/global for the District Rotary Foundation Committee to review.  The grant must be fully pledged for DDF allocations to be considered.
  • Enter and submit the grant application on The Rotary Foundation website.
